Palatine Public Library hosting Community Mental Health Event (9/25/2025)

The Palatine Public Library will host a community-focused mental health event on Thursday, September 25, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in Meeting Room 1. Organized in partnership with NAMI Northwest Suburbs Chicago and Ellie Mental Health – Downtown Palatine, the program coincides with Suicide Prevention Month and is designed to bring together students, parents, and local residents for an evening of learning, connection, and open conversation.

The event will highlight practical tools for recognizing mental health warning signs, share up-to-date facts and statistics, and feature real-life stories from individuals with lived experience. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue aimed at dispelling common myths and reducing stigma, while also discovering resources to remain connected and active within the mental health community.

NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness, is a leading nonprofit dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental health conditions. By collaborating with Ellie Mental Health, a practice known for providing accessible and personalized care, the evening’s program reflects a broader effort to make conversations around mental health both approachable and actionable at the community level.

The Palatine Library has positioned this gathering as part of its commitment to fostering civic engagement and community well-being. With mental health continuing to be a pressing issue across the country, the event offers residents a space not only to learn but also to build connections that can sustain support beyond the program itself.
